Cryptosporidiosis

Cryptosporidium is an infectious disease caused by Cryptosporidium parvum, and other species of Cryptosporidium occasionally cause this disease. Symptoms usually appear about 7 days after infection and include abdominal pain, watery diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. Most patients have symptoms that last from 6 to 10 days, but they can also last for several weeks. Infected patients with a problematic immune system can be very serious or even life-threatening. Since the official report in 1976, this disease has been found to be widespread, and it is a common cause of diarrhea in tourists. Many AIDS patients have this disease.
