Altitude Polycythemia

High altitude polycythemia (high altitude polycythemia) refers to people who have been living in high altitude for a long time due to hypoxic environment caused by excessive red blood cell proliferation. It is the most common clinical type of chronic altitude sickness. The vast majority of people occur in areas above 3200m above sea level, but there are a few people who are susceptible to hypoxia in areas below 3200m above sea level. Compared with healthy people at the same altitude, the volume of red blood cells, hemoglobin, and red blood cells in patients with high redness increased significantly, arterial blood oxygen saturation decreased, and the clinical symptoms and signs of polyemia were accompanied; Tissue congestion, stasis of blood flow and hypoxic damage.
