Hereditary breast-ovarian cancer syndrome

In a family with a hereditary breast cancer tendency, a breast cancer patient or two or more ovarian cancer patients in his or her first and second blood relatives belong to the hereditary breast-ovarian cancer syndrome family. In 1992, three distinct hereditary ovarian cancer syndromes were defined: ① hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer syndrome (ie Lynch type II). ② Genetic site-specific ovarian cancer syndrome. ③ Hereditary breast cancer-ovarian cancer syndrome. The latter is the most common of the three syndromes.
