Gonococcal conjunctivitis

Gonococcal conjunctivitis, also known as gonorrhea or gonorrhea, is an extremely severe acute suppurative conjunctivitis. The disease is characterized by high eyelids, conjunctival congestion and edema, and a large amount of purulent secretions. If the treatment is not timely, corneal ulcers and perforations will occur within a short period of time, leading to severe consequences of blindness. After liberation, with the control of sexually transmitted diseases, this disease has become extremely rare in China. However, in recent years, gonococcal genitourinary infections have been increasing year by year in China.
