Fat-soluble vitamin deficiency
Fat-soluble vitamins include vitamins A, D, E, and K. They are insoluble in water, but soluble in lipids and fatty solvents. Fat-soluble vitamins coexist with lipids in food and are absorbed along with the lipids. The absorbed fat-soluble vitamins are specifically bound and transported in the blood with lipoproteins and some special binding proteins. Fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K have certain biological functions, and the corresponding symptoms will occur once they are lacking.
