Upper ulnar fracture with radial head dislocation

In 1914, the Italian surgeon Monteggia first reported this type of fracture, so he called it Mencius fracture. Refers to a joint injury of the upper 1/3 fracture of the ulna with forward dislocation of the radial head. Later, many scholars made further observations and mechanism studies on this injury, which gradually expanded the scope of the concept of injury, including the dislocation of the radial head in various directions and different levels of ulnar fractures or ulnar and radial fractures. The injury can be seen in all age groups, but is more common in children and adolescents.
