Convulsions and convulsions

Convulsions are abnormal involuntary contractions of the whole or local skeletal muscle group and cause joint movements, mostly systemic and symmetrical. It is synonymous with spasm, or convulsion if it is accompanied by loss of consciousness. Its manifestations can be tonicity (continuous muscle contraction), clonic (intermittent muscle contraction), and mixed (tonicity and clonic muscle contraction occur successively). Convulsions can start from disorders of the muscles, peripheral nerves and any part of the central nervous system.
