Biliary Ascariasis and Liver Ascariasis
Biliary tsutsugamushi and liver tsutsugamushi are two diseases that are both closely related and different from each other, both of which originate from intestinal tsutsugamushi. In 1932, the British doctor Mure performed the first case of common bile duct incision and ascariasis in China. In 1942, West China Medical University performed the second case of common bile duct incision and ascariasis, thus opening up a new page in Oriental Biliary Surgery. Data records since the biliary tapeworm was discovered, this disease has been raging in China for at least half a century, and has become an important cause of primary hepatobiliary stones. Until the late 1970s, with the continuous improvement of people's living standards and gradual improvement of sanitary conditions, the incidence of biliary tsutsugamushi disease began to decline significantly.
