Vertical hair reflexes: Vertical hair muscles are innervated by sympathetic nerves. Place the ice cube behind the patient's neck or axilla. After a few seconds, the erector hair muscles can be contracted, and the hair follicles can be raised like chicken skin. Determine the range of sympathetic nerve dysfunction based on the site of the eruption.
