Inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor

Formerly known as protein π, it is a glycoprotein composed of a single polypeptide chain, which is unstable in nature. Leukocyte elastase can split it into two segments, one of which can inhibit trypsin, chymotrypsin and other proteases. Electrophoresis is located in the α2 globulin region.
