Bone marrow biopsy

Bone perforation is the extraction of a small amount of bone marrow for examination. Bone marrow is filled in the bone marrow cavity and skeletal cancellous mesh, and is divided into red bone marrow and yellow bone marrow. Red bone marrow has hematopoietic function, and yellow bone marrow has a large amount of adipose tissue. With age, red bone marrow in the medullary cavity is gradually replaced by yellow bone marrow. Red bone marrow is retained in the cancellous body of the spinal canal, sternum, ribs, collarbone, scapula, sacrum, skull and femur and upper end of humerus. It is the main hematopoietic organ of the human body. Abnormal quality and quantity of blood cells are important pathological changes in blood diseases. .
