Denatured globin body

The denatured globin body test (Heinz body) is a kind of denatured hemoglobin particles, which are generally attached to the cell membrane. It usually occurs in sensitive individuals after taking drugs or contacting chemicals, which can cause Hb denaturation. Others can be found in patients with unstable Hb and are valuable for the diagnosis of G-6-PD deficiency and unstable Hb disease.
