Pediatric respiratory syncytial virus pneumonia

Respiratory syncytial virus pneumonia (respiratory syncytial virus pneumonia) is short for syncytial virus pneumonia. It is a common interstitial pneumonia in children, which occurs in infants and young children. Because maternal antibodies do not prevent infections, they can develop in babies shortly after birth. RSV accounts for 10% to 15% of neonatal viral pneumonia. Occasional outbreaks of neonatal wards in maternity hospitals have occasionally been reported by nosocomial infections abroad.
