Neurasthenia

Neurasthenia is a neurosis that is predominantly debilitating brain and physical function. It is characterized by being prone to excitement and fatigue, and is often accompanied by emotional symptoms such as tension, annoyance, and irritability, as well as symptoms of physiological dysfunction such as muscle tension pain and sleep disorders. These symptoms are not secondary to physical illness or organic brain disease, nor are they part of any other mental disorder. However, there may be lasting emotional tension and mental stress before the illness.
