Hypokalemia

Serum potassium concentration below 3.5mmol / L (3.5mEq / L, normal human serum potassium concentration ranges from 3.5 to 5.5mmol / L) is called hypokalemia. In hypokalemia, the body's total potassium content does not necessarily decrease, and this is the case when extracellular potassium is transferred into the cell. However, in most cases, patients with hypokalemia are also accompanied by a reduction in total body potassium-potassium deficit.
