Ureterostomy

Most ureteral calculi can be cured by applying traditional Chinese and western medicine (such as taking Paishi Decoction, acupuncture, cystoscopy, intubation, ultrasonic lithotripsy or basket holstering, or external shock wave lithotripsy where conditions permit). Only when the above treatments are ineffective, in order to protect renal function, stop infection and relieve recurrent colic, open stone lithography is considered. Often stones embedded in the ureter can be removed with a basket. When it proves to be ineffective, some urologists cut the ureter to remove the stone or remove it by electrotomy. These two steps are often secondary to ureteral reflux. Although reflux does not cause damage in most patients, it can cause back pain or pyelonephritis in some patients. Therefore, some people suggest that after the bladder ureter is opened and the stone is removed, then the ureter is reconstructed to replace the first two operations.
