Diphtheria myocarditis

Diphtheria is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by Corynebacterium diphtheria. Clinically, it is mainly characterized by pharyngeal tonsillitis and / or laryngitis, typical gray-white false film formation in the throat and poisoning symptoms caused by exotoxin. Complicated myocarditis, called diphtheria myocarditis, is the most serious comorbidity of diphtheria and the main cause of death.
