Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding

Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding refers to the establishment of a 0.5-1 cm posterior gastric pathway under the gastroesophageal junction under laparoscopy. An adjustable silicone band is placed in and fixed. The sac forms a 10-15ml gastric sac above the belt, and food will produce a feeling of fullness after entering the gastric sac, thereby reducing the amount of food and achieving weight loss. When the patient undergoes physiological changes such as pregnancy or achieves the desired weight loss effect, the girdle can be removed, and the shape and function of the gastric sac are not damaged. The purpose of gastric band surgery is to treat obesity and type 2 diabetes (this operation is mainly aimed at simple obesity). Adjustable gastric band surgery is one of the several best therapies for treating obesity, and it is currently the most used therapy in the United States and Europe.
