Ankle flexion contracture deformity

Ankle flexion contracture malformations are common in the clinic and seriously affect the patient's walking function. The etiology is complicated, and the surgical plan should be designed based on the pathological characteristics of the deformity. Non-traumatic ankle contractures mainly include contractures caused by increased muscle tone and muscles. Secondary flexion deformity caused by loosening of relaxation and spastic flexion deformity caused by increased muscle tone.If Achilles tendon extension is performed simply, it will easily recur after surgery. It is also necessary to reposition the high tension tendon at the same time to balance muscle strength. There are two types of traumatic ankle flexion deformities, namely ischemic muscle contracture and secondary flexion contracture.
