Yellow-white sticky sputum with fruit flavor

Flavobacterium aromas was first detected in the bowel of intestinal patients in 1920, and was later found on the surface of urine, blood, sputum, wounds and ulcers. One patient with acute intracerebral hematoma was reported. On the fourth day after operation, the temperature increased, dyspnea, increased sputum volume, yellowish white sticky sputum, and fruity taste. On examination, both lungs had a thin snoring sound and a few wheezing sounds. White blood cells were 23.7 × 109 / L, and chest X-ray showed both lower lung infections. During 3 hospitalizations, sputum cultures showed non-fermentative Flavobacterium, which belonged to pure growth of Flavobacterium aromaticum. The strain produced insoluble yellow pigment with special aroma and positive oxidase test. Signs of Flavobacterium pneumonia: The clinical manifestations after infection with this bacterium are diverse, and vary depending on the site of infection. Common clinical manifestations are fever, mostly mild or moderately irregular fever, and some are relaxation fever. In severe cases, such as meningitis, lung, and septicaemia, the body temperature is higher, and the toxemia is more severe. Infants have symptoms of poisoning such as distress, less movement, less crying, feeding, and vomiting.
