Colonic diverticulum

Colonic diverticulum is the shape of the colon wall protruding outward to form a bag. It can be singular, but more often a series of sac-like protrusions outward from the intestinal lumen. Colonic diverticula can be divided into two types: true and acquired. The true diverticulum is a congenital weak layer of the colon wall, and the diverticulum contains layers of the intestinal wall. Acquired diverticulum is the hernia of the mucosa through the weakness of the intestinal wall muscle layer, so it is secondary to the increase in pressure in the intestinal cavity, forcing the mucosa to protrude through the weak area of ​​the intestinal wall muscles.
