Glaucoma due to elevated scleral venous pressure

Maintaining normal aqueous humoral dynamic balance and intraocular pressure is mainly determined by three factors in the aqueous humor circulation, namely the rate at which the ciliary body produces aqueous humor, the rate at which aqueous humor flows through the trabecular meshwork, and the upper scleral venous pressure. The maintenance of intraocular pressure level depends on the three being in a state of dynamic equilibrium. Glaucoma due to elevated scleral venous pressure is not uncommon clinically, but the etiology is complex and the treatment effect is poor.
