Fungal infection

Monilial or mycotic vaginitis is caused by a fungal infection. Its incidence is higher than trichomonas vaginitis. The fungal infection is called candida infection in medicine, so the fungal vaginitis is also called candida vaginitis. More common in young girls, pregnant women, patients with diabetes, and patients who have been treated with higher doses of estrogen after menopause.
