Decreased urine osmotic pressure

Urinary osmotic pressure, also known as urine osmolality, reflects the number of solute molecules and ions in a unit volume of urine. The decrease in urinary osmotic pressure reflects the reduced concentration of distal tubules. It is found in chronic pyelonephritis, chronic interstitial disease caused by various causes, and chronic renal failure.
