Patients may have symptoms such as fever, headache, and general discomfort. Pupae is the acute purulent inflammation of most adjacent hair follicles, tissues surrounding the hair follicles, and subcutaneous tissues. It is caused by the invasion of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands by the germs, spreading subcutaneously and spreading around. Therefore, the area of ​​skin lesions is larger than that of pimple. At the beginning, it is a diffused red-purple lump, which is tense and shiny. After purulent, multiple pus heads appeared, which were honeycomb-shaped, with necrotizing pus and bloody pus discharged. Sometimes all necrotic tissues fall off, forming deep ulcers, leaving scars after healing. Occurs on the neck, back, shoulders, hips, and thighs. The systemic symptoms of this disease are more obvious, including fever, headache and loss of appetite. The affected area has pulsatile pain, and the local lymph nodes are often enlarged.
