Migrating abscess

An abscess is a localized accumulation of pus in tissues, organs, or body cavities due to necrosis and liquefaction of diseased tissue, with a complete pus wall surrounding it. A common pathogen is Staphylococcus aureus. Abscesses can originate from acute purulent infections, or they can be transferred from distant pathogenic bacteria by blood flow or lymphatic vessels. Acute bacterial endocarditis and staphylococcal infections can be complicated by pulmonary abscesses, brain abscesses, and other migrating abscesses, including cough, dyspnea, convulsions, and hemiplegia.
