Varicella-like rash

Varicella-like rash lesions are mainly in the epidermal spinal cells. Cells degenerate and edema form cystic cells. The latter liquefies and interstitial fluid infiltrates to form vesicles. The surrounding and basal parts are congested, monocytes and multinucleated giant cells infiltrate, and eosinophilic inclusions are found in the nuclei of multinucleated giant cells. The blister contains a large amount of virus. It is transparent at first, and becomes cloudy due to exfoliation of epithelial cells and invasion of white blood cells. It can become pustules after secondary infection. The skin damage was superficial, leaving no scar after exfoliation. Mucosal herpes tends to form ulcers and heals easily.
