Swallowing disorder
Swallowing is one of the most complex somatic reflexes and requires good coordination of oral, pharyngeal, larynx, and esophageal functions. Swallowing disorders can lead to dehydration, malnutrition, aspiration pneumonia (repeated), and even suffocation and death. From swallowing It takes only a few seconds until the food reaches the cardia and goes through the complex process described above. This indicates that when a link on the swallowing reflex arc of normal humans is damaged, dysphagia will occur. Some patients with dysphagia may lose their lives because the swallowed food often enters the trachea and causes a lung infection, called aspiration pneumonia. Therefore, in the beginning of the onset of uncoordinated swallowing activities, coughing often occurs when swallowing, you should pay attention and check and treat early.
