Pleural adhesions

The so-called pleural adhesion is the adhesion of two layers of pleura. The disease is caused by tuberculosis, pleurisy, and after chest injury. The reason is that there is often effusion in the pleural cavity of patients with such injuries. Once the fibrin in the effusion is deposited on the pleura, it can cause pleural thickening. The pleura is gradually sticking, or there is hyperplasia of granulation tissue in the pleural cavity, which can also lead to thickening of the pleura and even adhesion.
