Pediatric myocarditis

Myocarditis is a focal or diffuse inflammatory infiltration of the myocardium with necrosis and / or degeneration of adjacent myocardial cells, and is characterized by myocardial ischemic damage associated with coronary artery disease. Myocarditis is related to a variety of causes and pathogenesis. Infectious myocarditis includes viral, bacterial, rickettsial, spirochaete, fungal, and parasitic infections, and viral myocarditis is the most common. Chagas disease is caused by Trypanosoma cruzi infection and occurs in South America and Brazil. Acute myocarditis can die in the acute phase, most of which are latent processes, and the symptoms are not obvious. Dilated cardiomyopathy begins to be discovered in the chronic phase. The heart enlarges significantly, heart failure and arrhythmias occur, leading to death. Immune-mediated diseases, chemical and physical factors can cause myocarditis. Myocarditis is often part of a systemic disease.
