Simple, wedge-shaped compression fractures of the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae

This is the most common type in clinical practice, and it is caused by falling hips or heels at a high place, so it is easy to be accompanied by fractures of the calcaneus or tibia and fibula. Such fractures are more common between chest 11 and waist 2 and are more common in chest 12 to waist 1. In addition, mild trauma can also be caused by osteoporosis. It is more common in menopausal women. Most of them occur after a flat fall, and the part is often below the first lumbar spine, which may be related to the high load intensity. Tetanus or other causes of spasm and contraction of the trunk muscle group can also cause this type of chest and lumbar fractures.
