Keshan disease

Keshan disease (Keshan disease) is a myocardial disease of unknown cause, also known as endemic cardiomyopathy. First discovered in Keshan County, Heilongjiang Province in 1935, it was named after Keshan disease. In the past, the mortality of this disease was relatively high. Actively preventing and treating this disease after the founding of New China has caused a significant decrease in the incidence and mortality of this disease. Important advances have also been made in the prevention, treatment and etiology research. At present, the annual incidence rate has dropped to less than 0.07 / 100,000, and the incidence types have changed from acute to subacute, and to latent and slow. A large number of epidemiological, pathological anatomy, clinical prevention and laboratory research results have shown that the disease is an independent endemic cardiomyopathy.
