Chest amoebiasis

In parenteral amoebiasis, the incidence of lung and pleural amoebiasis is second only to the liver. Chest amoebiasis is more common on the right side and mostly secondary to hepatic amoebiasis abscesses near the diaphragm. It is a late complication of intestinal amoebiasis. Chest amoebiasis accounts for 1% to 8% of amoebic dysentery and accounts for 15% to 20% of liver amebiasis.
