Fallopian tuberculosis

Tubal tuberculosis is inflammation of the fallopian tubes of the female genital organs caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Also called tuberculous salpingitis, the fallopian tubes are often granulomatous, and various types of chronic inflammation changes can be seen. In the genital tuberculosis, the fallopian tube is the main affected organ, accounting for 85% to 95%. Fallopian tuberculosis is mostly found in women between the ages of 20 and 40, but also in older women after menopause. Even those infected with tuberculosis before puberty rarely cause genital tract infections. However, due to the continuous improvement of diagnostic technology in recent years, it has been confirmed that its incidence has increased.
