Straight inguinal hernia

Direct inguinal hernia refers to a hernia formed by the abdominal viscera directly detached from the inguinal triangle (Hesselbach triangle) inside the inferior abdominal wall artery. Inguinal hernias occur in middle-aged and elderly people as well as frail people. They are related to many factors such as muscular and fascial hypoplasia, degenerative muscle atrophy, and increased intra-abdominal pressure in the triangular area of the hernia. Huge oblique hernias weaken the posterior wall of the inguinal canal, or the absence of abdomen can be accompanied by straight hernia.
