Ventricular septal defect

Ventricular septal defect is a common congenital heart malformation. Most of them are single malformations, accounting for about 20% of congenital heart disease; they can also be a component of compound heart malformations, such as seen in tetralogy of Fallot, complete atrioventricular channels, and so on. This section is limited to simple ventricular septal defects.
