Pleomorphic solar rash

Polymorphous solar rash is a delayed allergic reaction of the skin to sunlight. The pathogenesis is unclear. The spectrum of the disease is mainly medium-wave ultraviolet (UVB). In addition to UVB, some patients can induce the disease with long-wave ultraviolet (VUA) and visible light. The onset may be related to the epidermal pigment content, age, endocrine function, and deficiency of certain trace elements (such as zinc and copper). It is more common in spring and early summer, and it is more common in young women.
