Pregnancy with migraine

Migraine is a common group of headaches. It is a paroxysmal neuro-vascular dysfunction and is characterized by recurrent unilateral or bilateral headaches. Headache is currently one of the most common neurological complaints of pregnant women. Studies have shown that 70% of women with migraine have dramatic relief during pregnancy, especially migraines associated with the menstrual cycle. About 15% of migraines occur during the first trimester of pregnancy, and most often occur in the first 3 months of pregnancy, when hormone levels are already rising. About 60% of patients have a family history but no consistent genetic form.
