Anal pruritus

Anal pruritus (peritus ani, PA) is a common local pruritus. The anus is sometimes slightly itchy. If itching is severe, it will become pruritus if it is not cured. It is a common localized neurological dysfunction skin disease. Generally limited to the anus, some can spread to the perineum, vulva or behind the scrotum. It mostly occurs at noon and old age of 20 to 40 years old, and there are fewer young people under 20 years old, and it rarely occurs in children. Men are more common than women, and people who are accustomed to quietness and inactivity often experience this kind of pruritus. Secondary pruritus has obvious causes and is easy to treat; spontaneous or unexplained PA is not easy to cure and often recurs, accounting for about 50% of all patients.
