Posterior polymorphic corneal dystrophy

Posterior polymorphous dystrophy (PPD) represents a group of diseases with clinical and histopathological differences, one of which is similar to ICE syndrome. Different names have been proposed for this disease in the past, such as internal bullous keratitis, posterior corneal herpes, hereditary deep corneal dystrophy and hereditary mesodermal dystrophy. The name PPD is generally accepted in modern times. Silberman first mentioned the link between PPD and glaucoma, while Grayson and Gibis et al discussed in detail the various clinical manifestations of PPD.
