Whipworm disease

Trichuriasis is a common intestinal parasitic disease caused by Trichuris trichiura parasitizing the human's cecum, appendix, and ascending colon. It is widely distributed, especially in tropical and subtropical areas, and it has the highest incidence. It is widespread in China, especially in rural areas. Patients are predominantly children, and severe infections can affect children's growth and development. Patients with mild to moderate infections may be asymptomatic; those with severe infections may have diarrhea, blood in the stool, severe postcrash, rectal prolapse, anemia, and malnutrition.
