Keratoacanthoma

Keratoacanthoma (keratoacanthoma), also known as sebum molluscum or pseudocancerous molluscum, is a proliferative lesion of keratinized epithelium of the hair follicle. More common in men, middle-aged and elderly people. The clinical manifestation is a horny plug bulge at the center of the lesion, forming a solid papules or nodules. Keratinized acanthoma grows rapidly, but can resolve on its own. Scars are left after healing, and early treatment is recommended. The disease was first reported by Sir jonathan hutchinson as "crateriform ulcer of the face" in 1889. After 1950, solitary keratoacanthoma was classified as an independent disease and separated clinically and histologically from similar squamous cell carcinoma.
