Hand flexor tendon injury

The flexor tendon of the finger plays a major role in the function of holding the hand. Its anatomical structure is relatively special and is adapted to its physiological function. Therefore, the repair of the flexor tendon has its special characteristics. The flexor tendon has two groups: deep and shallow. It starts from the forearm, passes through the carpal tunnel, palm, and flexor tendon sheath, and stops at the base of the proximal phalanx and the proximal phalangeal phalanx. Loose connective tissue surrounds the entire tendon, which nourishes the tendon and facilitates the tendon to slide in it. It is called tendon peritoneum or paratenon tissue.
