Gastric leiomyosarcoma

Leiomyosarcoma of stomach is a malignant tumor that originates from gastric smooth muscle tissue. Among non-epithelial malignant tumors of the stomach, it ranks second only to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Gastric leiomyosarcoma mostly occurs from the muscularis propria of the stomach and is relatively rare, accounting for only 20% of intragastric tumors. There is no significant difference in gender. The average age is 54 years.
