Gastroenteritis caused by rotavirus
Rotavirus gastroenteritis is the most common type of viral gastroenteritis. Ordinary rotaviruses mainly affect infants and young children. Adult diarrhea rotavirus can cause an outbreak of gastroenteritis in young adults. No specific therapy, symptomatic treatment. Suspend dairy and disaccharides. Use antiemetics and sedatives when vomiting is severe. Oral or intravenous fluids to correct and electrolyte disturbances.
