Cocoon

Abdominal cocoon is characterized by the small intestine being wrapped in a layer of abnormal fibrous membranes, so it is also known as congenital intestinal confinement, small intestinal cocoon-like disease, intracapsular adhesive intestinal obstruction, and small intestine Segmental fibrous encapsulation syndrome, abdominal cocoon-like encapsulation, etc. This disease is a rare, unexplained, special type of intestinal obstruction. First reported and named by Foo in 1978. There is a lack of understanding of it clinically, and the diagnosis is often difficult.
