Paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration

Paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration (PCD) has been thought to be rare. Literature tracking reports show that about half of patients with nonfamilial delayed cerebellar atrophy will sooner or later develop tumors. The histopathological characteristics are the large disappearance of Purkinje cells, and the infiltration of brain parenchymal inflammatory cells is not obvious.
