Ovarian malignant peritoneal mesothelioma

Ovarian peritoneal mesothelioma is a relatively rare tumor that originates in mesothelial cells or a relatively primitive precursor cell under the mesothelium. It can occur on any body cavity epithelium covered by mesothelium, of which pleural mesothelioma is the most common, followed by the peritoneum, and it is rare in the pericardium and testicular sheath. Malignant peritoneal mesothelioma is a malignant tumor that originates in the peritoneum and was previously called carcinomatosis. Due to its complex and diverse tissue structure, some are very similar to the morphology of metastatic adenocarcinoma, making diagnosis difficult, and it is very easy to misdiagnose ovarian cancer in female patients.
