Salivary adenovirus disease

Salivary gland virus disease (virus disease of salivary gland) is also called cytomegalic inclusion disease. The disease is caused by cytomegalovirus infection. The virus can persist in the body for long periods of time and is excreted in saliva or urine. Infection is mainly caused by contact. Infants and young children can be infected through the placenta. More common in the submandibular and parotid glands.
