Primary Hyperlipoproteinemia and Xanthomas

Hyperlipidemia is when one or more components and contents of plasma lipids exceed the normal high limit. Since plasma lipids are fat-soluble, they must be combined with proteins to form a water-soluble complex in order to run the whole body, so the phenotype of hyperlipidemia is hyperlipoproteinemia. Xanthoma is a yellow, orange or brown-red pimples, nodules, or plaques formed by localized accumulation of lipid-containing tissue cells and macrophages in dermal tendons and the like. Patients often have a series of clinical symptoms accompanied by systemic lipid metabolism disorders and other system abnormalities, which is called xanthomatosis.
